In a stand mixer, beat butter and both sugars until well combined, about 3 minutes.
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing until combined.
Add the vanilla and mix until well combined.
In a medium sized bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
In three batches, add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients mixing well after each addition.
Add the chocolate chips to the dough and mix until well combined. Put dough in the refrigerator.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place cast iron pan in the oven.
Once preheated, remove the pan from the oven and the dough from the refrigerator.
Using a large spoon, press the dough into the pan evenly. Bake for 20 minutes or until dough is set in the middle.
Let pie cool completely in the pan. Top with sea salt before serving.
