Burley Oak Brewing Company
Burley Oak Brewing Co. is located just outside of Ocean City in Berlin, Maryland. Their taproom is a locals favorite with a rustic vibe. They have a large outdoor area with picnic table seating. Live entertainment happens outside- just check to make sure that you don't need a ticket! The Aboriginal Gangster IPA has always been a favorite!
Sinepuxent Brewing Company
Sinepuxent Brewing Company is located just down the road from Burley Oak in Berlin. This family owned brewery is located on 17 acres of farmland. The brewery truly feels 'unapologetically rural.' The brewery is family owned and also family friendly. There is a food available for purchase and Pablo's Bowls offers Acai bowls seasonally. There is a petting zoo and free local music most weekends. Be sure to check the schedule before visiting! I recently tried their Coffin's Point Pilsner. With a smooth flora finish, this easy drinking beer is perfect for a hot summer day.
Evolution Craft Brewing Company
Located in Salisbury, Maryland, Evolution Craft Brewing Company is a staple in the community. They opened their 'Public House' in 2012 attached to the brewery. Their goal is to make 'ever better beer for ever better food.' This award winning brewery and restaurant has won multiple awards including 'Best Craft Brewery' and 'Best Atmosphere' by locals. Head there and try the 'Lot 3' my personal favorite IPA. They also paired up with my favorite Delmarva coffee shop, Rise Up, to create amazing coffee stouts!
Tall Tales Taphouse
While not a brewery, Tall Tales Taphouse carries multiple local Delaware and Maryland craft beer on tap! Just 30 minutes from Ocean City, Maryland, Tall Tales Taphouse is located just off of Route 50 in Parsonsburg, Maryland. Go for the local beer, stay for the brick oven pizza. I give the Black & Bleu Pizza a 10/10!
The Other One Brewing
In the heart of Ocean City is the newest brewery to hit the scene. Located on the first floor of the Embers Center, The Other One Brewery is the only brewery located in Ocean City. Nathan Todd, previously head brewer of Backshore Brewery, opened The Other One Brewing as part of the Taustin Group with his wife, Gina Todd. In addition to a cozy tasting room, there is outdoor seating that is shared with Blu Crabhouse and Raw. You want to be drinking a Bayside Blond here. Located on 24th Street, The Other One Brewing Co. would be a perfect spot to watch Ocean City's famous St. Patrick's Day parade!
Fin City Brewing Company
Fin City Brewing Company has been brewing beer dedicated to the watermen and their families. This is Ocean City's oldest brewery. While they do not have a physical location at this time, they are in the process of opening a new brewery and tap room. In the meantime, buy one of their quality brews such as The White Marlin Pale Ale, Black Fin Black IPA or my favorite, the Slow Tide American Lager. With hints of pine and a smooth caramel finish, this is my go to fall beer!
Delaware Breweries
If traveling outside of Worcester County and crossing state lines into Delaware, there are plenty local breweries such as:
Dogfish Head- The brewery is located in Milton, Delaware with a brewpub and restaurant located in downtown Rehoboth Beach.
Thompson Island Brewery- Located on Coastal Highway in Rehoboth, this brewery features local favorites such as the Thompson Island IPA and the No Bad Days IPA. This brewery is owned by the SoDel Group. They have a unique and always changing menu. Thompson Island is my favorite lunch spot in Rehoboth!
Ocean View Brewing Company- Also, owned by the SoDel Group, Ocean View Brewing Company has a similar restaurant feel to Thompson Island but a different beer menu! Check out both restaurants for premier dining!
Revelation Craft Brewing- Originally, located in Rehoboth Beach, Revelation Craft Brewing is opening a new brewery in Georgetown, Delaware. The brewery collaborates with Hudson Fields in Milton, Delaware for family friendly happy hour events throughout the summer.
