Party Cosmopolitans is a classic cocktail recipe scaled up for a crowd! No more mixing and shaking one drink at a time. Make a large batch, sit back and sip!

    Classic Cocktail

With Christmas just 2 short weeks away, I am sure that menu planning is well under way! As I mentioned earlier this week, I will be serving a classic Christmas Ham (and making these sammies with the leftovers!). In addition to beer and wine, I like to have a signature cocktail at our holiday gatherings.

After a fun weekend in NYC and with the Sex & The City reboot, And Just Like That, debuting this week, Cosmopolitans will be our Christmas signature cocktail. It can be a HUGE PAIN to have to mix up a drink one by one for guests. To avoid sweaty cocktail shakers, I will be making a large batch of this classic cocktail to have ready to serve to guests. It is also nice to have a pitcher of refrigerated cocktails ready to go for friends who pop over during the holidays!

    What's in this Classic Cocktail?

The great thing about a Cosmopolitan is that it seems fancy (hello, Carrie Bradshaw) but it uses the most basic ingredients! Vodka, Triple Sec, Cranberry Juice and Lime Juice make up this classic cocktail.

I suggest making these cocktails up to 3 days ahead of time and storing in the refrigerator. To a large pitcher, add all ingredients and stir. Refrigerate.

When you are ready to serve, chill martini glasses by placing a few ice cubes inside. To a cocktail shaker, add ice and cosmopolitan mix. Shake, shake, shake. Remove ice from martini glasses and pour into glass.

The below recipe makes enough for 4  7 ounce cocktails. If you are hosting a larger crowd, double this recipe.

If you want your drink to be on the weaker side (or if you would like a more festive red color), simply add more cranberry juice. This recipe adds more cranberry juice than other cosmopolitan recipes, however, I do still feel that it is a strong drink.

    Let's get fancy!

Since it is Christmas time, a festive garnish is in order! Cranberries and limes on a toothpick are an easy way to dress up your drink. Another fun option is Sugared Cranberries. Check out the recipe from my friend Rachel at Rachel Bakes at Home! I would make these and put them on a toothpick and serve along side the martini glass.

If you are looking for another large batch cocktail, try this Spiced Hot Cider. While the mood is a little more fallish, I have never met someone who doesn't enjoy a mug of steaming cider on a cold winter day!

The holidays to me mean family togetherness. I hope that you make these cocktail and enjoy them while laughing with your family. Please drink responsibly and, if you make these, leave a comment or tag @delmarvaliciousdishes! Merry Christmas!
